Every Pumpkin Is Perfect was conceived in 2004 when dusk splashed an amazing orange glow over Papa's Pumpkin Patch in Bismarck, North Dakota. The author and her colleagues gathered around a picnic table, sharing what makes each of them unique.

Fall brings all kinds of pumpkins: pie pumpkins, 800 pounders, white ones with black stems, and some that look like they were squashed by a giant fly swatter. This story inspires self esteem in children and provides confidence that -- just as every one of these pumpkins is unique -- each child is perfect and special in his or her own way.
